Children Music Teacher

Farnoosh Fasihimajd is an accomplished children’s music educator and graphic designer based in North Vancouver, BC. With over 25 years of experience, her mission is to create a joyful and imaginative environment where children can explore the magic of music. She encourages young learners to experience the beauty of sound, rhythm, and melody before deciding whether to pursue music professionally, fostering creativity and a lifelong appreciation for the art.

Farnoosh’s teaching philosophy integrates music and visual arts, a unique approach rooted in her academic background. Holding a Master of Arts in Graphic Design from Alzahra University, her thesis explored the intersection of music and visual elements to enhance educational experiences.

Her extensive teaching experience spans prestigious institutions, including Hamaavaz, Resalat, and Taranom Music Institutes in Iran. She has worked with children of all abilities, including those with Down syndrome and hearing loss, using innovative methods to make music accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Her programs feature Orff instruments, recorder flute, and group activities designed to nurture rhythm and pitch awareness.

During her career, Farnoosh has:

  • Directed award-winning ensembles for children with hearing loss, receiving accolades like the first prize at Iran’s “Mehr-Ahang” festival.
  • Taught beginner and intermediate orchestras, arranging and composing pieces for young ensembles.
  • Conducted online music lessons, expanding access during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She is also certified as a Responsible Adult in British Columbia and a substitute EA in SD 67, further demonstrating her dedication to supporting children’s growth and development.

Through her creative, interdisciplinary methods, Farnoosh continues to inspire children to discover their unique musical voices and embrace the joy of lifelong learning.
